About Me

I have experience as a social worker, public school teacher, homeschool teacher and mother.

For You and Your Family

am a keen observer with an authentic and caring presence who is able to take a broad view while assessing each family’s unique situation. Though I do not provide therapy, I coach my clients based on my professional and personal experiences as a clinical social worker and parent. We can work together to gain insight and develop action plans to maximize your success in harmony with your family’s values. While I focus on finding practical solutions, finding them often requires creativity and flexibility, and thinking outside of the box.

While I began my career as a public school teacher, over time I found myself drawn to working with individual children and their families. Eventually, I went back to school to become a clinical social worker and began working with children, adolescents and adults in many different contexts.  My experience includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric social work, foster care placements, agency social work, school/homeschool social work and family counseling.

When my own children started school, I found myself questioning the fit. Eventually I landed in the wonderful and challenging world of homeschool. I had never dreamed that I would venture off the traditional school path, but almost a decade later, I can’t imagine our lives without the freedoms that homeschooling has given us.
